Steroid injection

1. Corticosteroids:

1. These are drugs known to reduce inflammation and thus decreasing swelling, pain and discomfort.
2. It can be injected inside the joint (intra- articular) / around the joint (peri- articular).
3.  triamcinolone acetonide (kenacort/tricort) and methyl prednisolone acetate (Depomedrol) are two commonly used drugs.
